Shayla + Corbin’s Vintage Mountain Wedding at Mount Princeton Hot Springs.

Colorado Mountain Wedding

These two truly stole my heart with their love story, their wedding planning and their beautiful day. They got married deep in the Rocky Mountains at Mount Princeton Resort.Their perfectly styled vintage wedding, with purple accents, was truly to die for—AND   miniature husky, LuLu, was involved with the whole day.

It is so much fun to hear how bride’s their day!

Here are a few of Shayla’s thoughts on her amazing Mount Princeton Wedding!

—Wow where to begin, to be honest everyone is right when they say, “enjoy your day because it will flash before your eyes.” The day went by in the blink of an eye, but I made sure I savored every single moment. To begin I actually slept really well the night before which I wasn’t surprised because we had quite the busy day before setting up, partying and visiting family. The morning of, I remember thinking this is it the day I’ve been waiting for,for a longgggg time! I wasn’t really sure where to begin other than relax and enjoy being pampered by my wonderful bridesmaids who took care to make sure I didn’t run around the resort trying to finish things up. My maid of honor, my sister, did an incredible job at making sure all the final touches were complete. I could not have done it without her and the help of the rest of my family running around that morning.

Getting ready I remember putting on my dress and feeling the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life. I loved my dress! I could not wait for Corbin to see me in it all did up all pretty. Together, we decided not to do a first look and instead did an around the corner, to hold hands. I remember holding his hand and feeling all the nerves just melt away with his warm and strong embrace. When the time finally came and I was ready, I had to sit back and take a few deep breaths I remember thinking to myself this is really happening. I knew that when the sun came out and the wind died down that it was a sign that this was meant to be and it was time!

I loved that I had both of my parents walk me down the isle because they are both such a huge part of my life and I couldn’t imagine not having both of them walk with me to give me away. I mean why does the mom have to sit up front while the dad gets all the credit, moms always deserve more credit than they think they deserve. Walking out I did not even notice the guests or any of the décor walking up. I could only look at the way he looked at me as I approached the altar. That special look when someone truly loves you and nothing else in the worlds matters at that moment but the two of you. I couldn’t stop looking at him and that’s what held me together the whole time. Sure I cried, especially when Id see the tears well up in his eyes but holding his hand and focusing on just the two of us made that moment dreamlike.

Walking down the isle as Mr. and Mrs. was probably when the moment hit me, like WE DID IT! After six years and five months of dating we are now husband and wife! Corbin and I (per his request) took 8 weeks of dance lessons. Let me tell ya we both have two left feet and it was totally worth it! It was so much fun learning something new together and a nice break every week to just go and dance! Our dance turned out perfect and it so sweet, getting that moment together to just take a deep breath and be with each other in that moment. We were both so nervous but once our song started it was like nobody was watching and we were back in our living room practicing away. I never thought I would ever say that about dancing because I have always been to embarrassed or nervous to dance but I loved that one moment I got to spend alone with him out on the dance floor.

I am so happy with the way the reception turned out. It was an absolute blast! I remember all the beautiful lights around the venue and the people gathered around the cocktail tables laughing and watching our photo slideshow. It had hilarious pictures from us growing up and throughout our relationship and it was nice to share our adventures with other people. Don’t even get me started on the food! I have had a lot of food at weddings that was cold, dry or just plain Jane and I was blown away at how delicious the food was! I made sure we both ate our food because so many people told us they didn’t even taste the food at their wedding and I knew I was not going to let that happen. I have never been to a wedding where so many people danced! It made my heart happy to know that people were enjoying themselves and that dance floor was packed all night long!

Overall, I think my favorite part of that night other than our dance was eating not just one but two pieces of our cake and the amazing speeches my sisters gave. They made me cry more than I cried reading my vows and I could barely keep that together. They were so sweet and I will remember their kind words forever. In the end the whole day turned out perfect; I would not change a single thing. Sure there may have been a little blip here and there where something wasn’t exactly the way I wanted it, but it still turned out wonderful. It was so special being surrounded by the people who love you. Everyone was all there to celebrate the best day of our life and party the night away with us. It was definitely a day to remember and one that will be stamped on my heart forever.
